March-April 2007CENews - Project Case Study: Breaking through communication barriers
"Rapid 3-D renderings help engineers fine-tune designs and communicate project impacts to clients and communities." - Reva Garmise
Face it. We might as well be speaking Greek. As civil engineers, we have a language of our own. Show a two-dimensional CAD design to a fellow engineer and you can both envision the finished product. Show it to a layman and he will see squiggles and lines. It will be a long uphill battle to convince your customer that the community park going up on a landfill that is today a waste dump will soon be swathed in green grass, dotted with trees and flowers and crisscrossed by pretty pathways.
